Reviews
Been coming here for years. Always my go to for sushi. Service is great, food is always amazing. The staff is always awesome, chill, and friendly. . Always ascetic and delicious. You will not find better fish anywhere else in Colorado. Absolutely recommend this place to any and all sushi lovers or first time having sushi. Jei himself is an absolute peach and deserves 5 stars himself for astetics and service.
The absolute worst service and food ever. The server was nice and great herself, but the sushi chef was so slow. I wouldn’t recommend we were waiting so long for our food.
Excellent prices and service. All you can eat sushi and all you can drink sake!
FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL, THE VIBES WERE IMPECCABLE, AND ERIC WAS A GREAT SERVER! Will be back for more! Thank you!
I wanted to try this place, as it's in a convenient location. I ordered a total of 5 rolls and a couple kinds of nigiri for lunch. (Names of rolls included with pictures.) The price was good, as the total was around $50 before a tip. I will say, while the taste of the food was decent, it isn't my favorite sushi place in town.
After 7 years of coming here whenever we can, I think it's time for an updated review:
My family, friends, and I love it here. It has become like a third space away from home and work, to just relax and have a bit of fun for birthdays or really just any day we feel like treating ourselves. I've tried almost every item in the menu by now and love it all. My favorite is the salmon eggs nigiri, I have to get that every time. My husband loves the vegetable tempura, bento boxes, and deep friend cheesecake. We love the mural on the wall, and sitting at the bar where we can watch the sushi being made. I first came here around the time when the restaurant first opened, when my daughter was a newborn, because I couldn't eat sushi when I was pregnant and I had to finally celebrate after my daughter was born. The restaurant owner held my daughter so I could eat with both hands, and she fell asleep on his chest. My daughter is 7 now and she also gets excited every time we go here. She loves trying new foods, the cute waving cat decoration at the sushi bar, and picking a Ramune out of the fridge. I really can't recommend this place enough.
This is the review that I first left, word for word (copy/pasted), 7 years ago:
Ferociously delicious, fresh, and artistic food at a great value. This place is amazing. My friends, family, and I love it. It's a family owned restaurant with kindly people working there.
This was my first time trying this place, and it will be my last. The ramen noodles were so mushy that it was like eating baby food, they were out of the chicken that goes in the ramen and didn’t bother to call me to see if I wanted something else (they just gave me a $10 credit total even though both ramens didn’t have the chicken instead of calling), the entire sushi roll was warm, and the egg rolls tasted like the frozen ones from the grocery store. I am really disappointed with this place—I really wanted to like it. I waited for about an extra 10 mins for my food to be ready after my scheduled pickup time so the food quality is not because I was late to pickup or anything. Maybe they had an off night, but it was not a great first impression.
Aloha from da BIGPAKE : Today I got to experience a gem of a spot for real authentic localized sushi. I am always impressed with a place that can serve food the way it was meant to be made. This place reminds me of local Hawaii sushi places for one the food but second the hospitality. When we first got there the young lady who sat us was welcoming and was so energetic and made you feel at home, Second the server (Luke) was outstanding.. he was like a cool next door neighbor that understood what you wanted and he always checked on my family. The owners have connections to Hawaii and that may attribute to why thier food is so good but never the less if your ever in Colorado Springs you need to check this place out. You will only want to thank me.
